Roof Going On

Well, when all was said and done, the new Bethany house just flat needed a new roof.  So here it is, going on...

It turned out to be a monster job and took three days but now we're all dry and snug and looking good.  Next week carpet and at this time, I expect an Open House in mid-January  for February availability.

In the final stretch...

Went to Forrest Lumber today to pick up the rest of the trim for finishing the living room.  It will have 6" wood baseboard to complement the high ceilings and brick fireplace.

I love Forrest - it's just  treasure trove of wood products and reminds me of going to the outdoor lumberyard when I was a kid...

Now we'll stain and finish it, install it in the living room, and once I get the roofers in line, which is easier said than done, it will  be ready to go

Painting

Well, I fished a few photos out for a starter.  Working on getting exterior trim done because today was just a perfect day to do it.  We had beige wood shutters and decided to brighten them up a bit.   Hopefully not too much...

I'll get to pictures of the door and the overall effect later, just ran out of light.  It's good to have things moving again.

Update

Way past time for an update... at this time we have no vacancies.  I'm back to work on the 3/2 in Bethany... took some pictures on my new phone, now just have to figure out how to transfer them.

The 14th street house needs a new roof thanks to a summer hail storm, work on that should start next week.  We do have tenant candidates for it but if that doesn't work out, will re-post here.

Hope everyone is having a terrific holiday season.
